Daniel Martinico

Daniel Martinico is a film and video artist influenced profoundly by a childhood seeped in amateur hacking, cinephilic obsessions, phone-phreak distractions, and breakdance culture. His work embraces a lo-fi hack/phreak mentality, often reworking appropriated material to reveal and reconsider dominant systems of structure found within the debris of popular media
culture. Recent screenings and exhibitions have included Art in General's 12 to 12 Video Marathon in New York City; Vidarte 2002 in Mexico City;
VideoEx, Switzerland; and REACTION! Cinema2 at Il Cinema Ritrovato, Bologna.
