The Obscured Sky, undoing
8:30 and 9:30 pm video screenings
Three film and video artists undo the dichotomies within the spectrum between the collective and the self, the political and the reflexive. These films are shown across from the former site of the Woman’s Building on Spring Street, a public space for women to create art that explored of feminist desire and sexuality at a time when women were routinely excluded from museums and art galleries. This program offers a visitation to those tensions as they exist in 2018 or perceived to be while residing within and/or existing outside the feminist genealogies championed by the Woman’s Building historical remembering.
