Laurel Almerinda
Laurel started off on the right foot, attending
Catholic school and confessing her sins once a week. She continued to
flower at Tufts University, earning a BA in Art History and Archaeology,
receiving numerous awards for her scholarship and a grant to take part
in an archaeological expedition to Masada, Israel. Then things went
horribly wrong: she immersed herself in dance choreography and became
the artistic director of a small dance company that shamelessly performed
varying states of undress throughout New England. Laurel continued her
fall from grace by moving to Los Angeles to pursue a Master of Fine
Arts in Film Production at the University of Southern California. Although
she finished at the top of her class and was awarded the Samuel and
Lorenza Gary Grant on the basis of her thesis script, she insists on
making films with titles such as “firepussy.” Today she
is an outspoken original and risk-taking young artist, both an obsessive
Martha Stewart devotee and biker chick, and independent filmmaker and
music video director.
