will show murals created by incarcerated fathers + their children during Camp Grace.
The Place4Grace holds Camp Grace, an art and music based program that brings children ages 8-14 to CDCR facilities to spend a full week with their parents! Children and their parents spend 6-8 hours together in the prison visiting room Monday- Friday creating a life size mural based on the prompt “What would a perfect day be if my mom/dad weren’t in prison?” The Place4Grace team is all system impacted and our counselors guide families through music activities, competitive games, creative writing, art and much more. Children spend the mornings and afternoons with their incarcerated parents, and at night, the staff and the children stay at a local lodging where they participate in art and recreational activities like hiking, movies and swimming. They also participate in our traditional Roses & Thorns circle every night at a campfire with Camp Staff to share their experiences and encourage bonding. They also offer reentry services.
