By the mid-nineties, artists were building entire worlds on CD-ROM, and audiences could experience artworks that contained movies, still images, 3D graphics, audio, and more. Live N.U.D.E. Artists—a New Underexposed/Undaunted/Unconventional Developers Event—showed nine artists’ CD-ROMS, including Nancy Buchanan’s “Developing: The Whole Picture,” Lalo Lopez’s “Clamps,” and “Puppet Motel” by Hsin-Chien Huang and Laurie Anderson.
