Our third festival brought together and showcased a broad-based response to the L.A. Uprising. Curated by 60 curators, 75 programs of 425 artists were shown widely, including the Wooster Group’s “White Homeland Commando.” Panels and workshops included producing and distributing activist videos, a showcase of videos on reproductive rights, and a touring program on LA racism. The programming was also broadcast on 29 cable stations. Our opening night event featured live video installations from artists including Liz Young, Sandra Tsing Loh, and Weba Garretson and the Harry Knows Quintet.
